Kahler asks us if we would
like to be an Official Dealer
April
30, 2007 - Josh at Kahler contacted me and asked if I would
be interested in becoming a Kahler Dealer. Well not only
would I like to, I actually looked into it several months
ago and never followed thru (due to health issues). I LOVE
Kahler tremolos and am Proud to stock their tremolos in my
shop. In fact I am putting one on a very special electric
guitar I am building for a very special person (more on that
later). So anyone who needs a great Tremolo at real great
prices...CALL ME !
Gibson's
Nashville Grand Opening/
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
July 27-29, 2006 - Went to Gibson's Nashville Grand Opening/Ribbon
cutting ceremony of their new Custom Shop. What a blast
this was...Three days of partying with guitar heroes like
Larry Carlton, Cheap Trick, Tesla, and a whole lot more.
I have said it before...Rick (Gembar) really knows how to
throw a party and this was no exception. Completely catered
affair top shelf (food/drinks/entertainment) for three days.
Not to mention all the guitars, clinics, jamming and shows.
It must have cost a fortune...but hey...that's Gibson style.

Gibson's Custom Shop Jam/party
July
14, 2006 - I was planning on going to Austin for Summer
NAMM. But I was invited to Gibson's Custom Shop Jam/party.
So I'll be heading to Nashville to see Rick and Kelley and
the rest of the gang for three days of total mayhem! I'll
post lots of pics when I get back. See above.

Guitar Maker Magazine published articles
July 01, 2006 - Just published my latest article in Guitar
Maker Magazine. This one is on intonation. It is intended
for Luthiers but I am sure everyone can get something from
it. It goes into much more detail about exactly what I do
to install BUZZ FEITEN tuning system on your guitar. Click

Marshall
Brune`s Museum/Shop
March
22, 2006 - It's my Birthday! Had to celebrate alone...I
know... boohoo! Actually...I wasn't alone...I was in Chicago,
IL. more specifically, Evanston, IL. I was at Richard and
Marshall Brune`s Museum/Shop learning their French Polish
technique.
I have been
F.P'ing for many years now. I have always been searching
for a better method...until now...the Brune`s really have
F.P.'ing well under their wings. I learned a great deal
from Marshall and Richard. They have learned a great deal
(no doubt) from master builders like Antonio Torres, Fleta,
Hauser, and Ramirez to name a few. One of the best parts
of my trip was being able to examine, play, and discuss
the construction, tone and finishes on these great guitars
and their builders with Marshall and Richard. We also talked
about what our customers expect a French Polished guitar
to look like... and how wrong they usually are( I'm not
knocking my customers...just stating that a French Polished
guitar is NOT supposed to look like a Polyester sprayed
Martin/Taylor ! ).
I truly
enjoyed my visit at the Brune`s and hope to return soon
to study more of the great builds of the Classical Master
Luthiers. While there I got to meet some other great luthiers
- Joe Volin, Craig Finnegan, Matt Chaffin and Rob Evans.
